Love Your Body, At Whatever Size

These days, it seems that a person's beauty has less to do with their features and more to do with their body size. It's as if your eyes, nose, and mouth are completely forgotten, and your weight is the only factor that is considered. That's great for people who are naturally thin, but what about the rest of the population?

Most people in the United States are not thin. That means that most of us are not considered to be attractive by society's standards. This fact can be extremely damaging to many people who want to be beautiful but who have been unsuccessful at weight loss. Is it a simple fact that you are not beautiful if you are not thin?

Of course, the answer is no. Everyone has individual beauty standards, and many people are attracted to larger people. Society's strict standards do not accurately mirror the individual preferences that real people have, and that's just one reason why you should learn to love your body, no matter what size you are.

A more important reason to love your body is that you need to care about yourself if you are going to take care of yourself. If you see your body as ugly, and you hate it, you might not care very much about meeting its needs. Your body has a lot of very specific needs, and meeting all of those needs is a high-maintenance affair. Why would you go to all of the time and effort to take good care of something that you hate?

If you love your body, you will treat it like all of the other things you love. You will make sure to eat vitamins, minerals, proteins and fats. You will not want to smoke cigarettes or take drugs because you do not want to hurt your body. You will want to exercise regularly because you know that your body needs the physical activity. The same basic practices are good for bodies of all sizes.

When you take care of your body properly, you get a sense of confidence. You know that you are healthy, and this confidence can show. Your body will look better, too, when you take care of it well. No matter what size you are, you can be happy in your body. And showing your body love can sometimes make you lose a little weight, too, if you're lucky.
